Thanks @F_A_B_Ferguson_Adven I’ve done that.
Small problem to fix Richard. After you "add’ or ‘tick’ a walk a page call ‘Help the Aussie Bushwalking Community’, but he option to ‘upload a photo’ is not working. You can ‘edit’ the walk or ‘exit’ but not load any photos.
The current solution is once you exit the walk to go back in on its front page to add a photo.
Thanks Paul. I’ll take a look.
Richard. Bald Rock Summit GPS track has a very strange elevation profile! Looks like the Bald Rock (KML) posting is not accurate and should be deleted leaving 4) Bald Rock Summit Track (GPX). Thanks.
Thanks Paul. I’ve fixed Bald Rock. Still haven’t had a chance to look at the upload a photo problem though. The Scouts have been keeping me busy.
@F_A_B_Ferguson_Adven Hope you’re having a great Christmas holidays. I finally found some time to look at the issues that had been piling up including the upload a photo issue you reported. It’s fixed up now. Hope you’ve had a great year and looking forward to seeing the results of your 2023 adventures!
Thanks Richard for all your support. Looks like you were up my way with the scouts just before Christmas.
2022 walks were pretty varied all be it not many by my standards. However 2023 looks like a whole new ball game with a massive trip back out to the Warrumbungles with some unfinished business from 2017 when all the big walks were closed due to the weather.
Richard good morning. Is there a glitch in loading new walks onto the main walks page?
At least the last three new walks appears on the map within the walk details, but not on the overall map page.
Thanks Paul. That’s fixed now.
Hi Richard. My fingers were too quick for my brain this morning and in loading the co-ordinates for the new walk Fans Horizon I left out the ‘.’ So it has come up with rubbish, which I am unable to correct via ‘edit’. Please can you correct to read:
-31.303680, 148.985220 Thanks.
Please can you also look at the Sub-regions under World. The last 10 have all been added in error including what looks like two bot entries. Please can you delete them all. Thanks.
This forum page looks very strange as the last two comments have come up with a date of May 19 instead of May 23!
I know you are a fan of Girraween, but did you know that they have completely revamped the camping area? Plenty of camp sites, with specific sites for caravans, camper trailers and tents. But on a first come first served basis, which can make it difficult if you want more than one site.
@F_A_B_Ferguson_Adven sorry, took me a bit - I got hit by a flu last week. That’s all cleaned up now. I’ll mark down to fix the bug which stopped you being able to edit it as well. I’m not sure how I missed that track when I did my Warrumbungle trip a few years back. I’m sure I could’ve fit in an extra 3.8km
I’m hoping to convince some of my Scouts to plan a trip out to Girraween so I can take another trip there. I’d love to do a nice multiday through there.
I have just updated Underground Creek in Girraween NP as I have extended the walk to include the climb onto the rock platform above. Please can you delete the old KML and replace it with 156 Underground Creek (GPX). Thanks.
Hey Richard it’s been a while.
An error I found on a walk I saw the other day got me thinking, that while I fix up the errors I can fix through the ‘edit this walk’ function there are errors that need people with moderator powers whether that be to merge or delete or region shift et cetera. So when I come to those hurdles I sometimes come to here to relay what I’ve found though I was thinking that it could be good to have a simple way for myself and any member of the community who perhaps doesn’t stray over to the forum side of the site to be able to flag something. Whether that be a comment box somewhere within the ‘edit this walk’ section or simply another little link in that walk menu section titled ‘suggest an edit’ or something around those lines that would open a comment box and allow whoever has found something they can’t fix to suggest what it is that might be wrong or out of place. These suggestions could be submitted and become like a moderator check list sort of thing for moderators to go through when they have the time and hopefully allow users to help find and flag errors as they go about using the site without leaving the walk page they are on. I’m not technologically savvy enough to know how much effort that would take to implement or if it would be worth it but thought it could be useful for the site.
Kind Regards,
Liam
Fantastic idea @Lahs. I hadn’t thought of that one. I’ll put it up the top of the list.
Richard hi. Did you miss my request last month to swap our the GPS Track for Underground Creek as it looks like it hasn’t been done yet?
@F_A_B_Ferguson_Adven sorry, yes I did. All fixed up now.
Richard hi. Have you been playing about with walk photos etc, as nothing is appearing on any walks?
Thanks @F_A_B_Ferguson_Adven No changes made. Something has just broken. Trying to figure it out now.
And we’re back! Some setting change on the Microsoft cloud where the images are stored. Everything is showing again now.
Thank you, really appreciate the amount of work / time you put in! Will get in touch via LinkedIn Profile. From Burleigh at Gold Coast kindly yours P H Bloecker (Retired Educator).
